The Program

Swan houses an internal initiative called “Cignus Technology.” This Chapter is dedicated to actively participating in volunteer projects and initiatives led by the passionate Swan Tech staff. Cignus is a mentoring project and launched its first cohort focused on the Latino Community in October 2023. This initiative underscores Swan’s commitment to diversity and professional development within the technology sector.

All mentees are asked to generate Trailhead accounts and this is used extensively combined with web meetings, 1:1 mentoring sessions and a challenge project to help mentees understand the Salesforce ecosystem and prepare them to chase their first Salesforce role.

The Sessions

    1. What Career path is for me?
      This session reviews the different career paths available within the Salesforce ecosystem, and the various certifications and other qualifications that are available to support them.
    2. The role of a Salesforce consultant
      An introduction to a Salesforce consulting role. What do Salesforce consultants do? What skills are important to the role? And how do they run a project?
    3. What is Sales cloud?
      An overview of Salesforce Sales Cloud, the core cloud for the Salesforce platform. An open discussion of the main features and how Salesforce customers use them
    4. Discovery and Requirements Gathering
      A discussion of perhaps the most important phase of every project, requirements gathering. Techniques used to gather information at the level required to design an appropriate solution for a client. 
    5. Challenge Project
      The Challenge project is a capstone challenge giving the participants a chance to show off what they have learnt along the journey
